Upcycling Service

We rescue items in good condition which have been left behind after a previous tenant has left, which we then add to our store of items available to help another tenant in need.

As WSHA’s Green Strategy states, we are committed to promoting:

"sustainable ways to deliver services in order to reduce the environmental impact and carbon footprint of the organisation’s activity"

The Upcycling Service contributes to our strategy by reducing waste going to landfill and in the process helping to reduce harmful emissions. Items we upcycle include:

  • Washing machines
  • Fridges and freezers
  • Microwaves, toasters and other small appliances

The service also deals with furniture including:

  • Sofas
  • Chairs
  • Chest of drawers

Soft furnishings & accessories:

  • Curtains
  • Cushions
  • Rugs
  • Ornaments, mirrors & artwork

After collection, PAT testing and cleaning, upcycled items can be passed on to new tenants on a limited budget, or can be supplied to tenants who need a replacement for an old, faulty, or non-repairable item.
